RAM CHANDRA LAMICHHANE, has done Ph.D. in "Community Development and Peace in Nepal: An Appreciative Inquiry Approach". He holds Double Masters (Rural Development and Political Science), Double Bachelors (Education and Law) degrees. He has done Certification on “Appreciative Inquiry for Igniting Positive Business and Societal Transformation” from Case Western Reserve University, USA and Certified Trainer on “Conflict Transformation and Peace Building Across the Culture” from SIT Graduate School of USA. He has benefitted with the "Participatory Project Monitoring and Evaluation Training with Dr. Robert Chamber and Other Member of Community of Evaluators, South Asia. He has been working as professional trainer, facilitator, researcher, project evaluator and strategic planner for last 20 years. He has facilitated the First community forestry international conference, 2009 in Nepal; 3rd World Appreciative Inquiry Global Conference, 2009 in Kathmandu; 5th World Appreciative Inquiry Conference, 2014 in Johannesburg; World Evaluation Conclave, 2014 in Kathmandu; 8th Global Human Conference, 2012 in Kathmandu; 1st South Asian Agriculture Extension Conference, 2014 in Kathmandu. He has served as external evaluator for Regional Community Forestry Training Centers' (RECOFTC) programs; Practical Action, ACORAB and CEAPRED. He started his professional career as a Ranger, in Department of the Forest on 1995. He has worked as Natural Resource Management Sector Specialist in Community Based Economic Development Project for 3 years (1996-1999) in Baitadi. He has worked for the positive transformation of organizations and facilitated numbers of trainings, workshops, conferences in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, China, South Africa, Malaysia, Bangkok and The Philippines. He has good knowledge on strategy plan preparation, project evaluation and capacity development based on strengths-based approaches.
He is well known expert on “Appreciative Inquiry Approach” in South East Asia. He introduced the Appreciative Inquiry in China Xian in 2013. He conducted Appreciative Inquiry Training to Counsellors of Peking University, Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science on 15-17 Oct. 2016. He conducted the Talk Program in Beijing Normal University, Beijing on 17th of Oct. 2016 at the department of Psychology for the faculty members. He Conducted the “Appreciative Inquiry Training for the Department Heads of Sciatic Business School in Qingdao China on 4th June 2017 and conducted “Appreciative Inquiry for Building the Harmonious Relationship” on 10-11 June, 2017 in Zhengzhou University in Henan China. He has delivered the speech as panelist in Community of Evaluator South Asian conclave in New Delhi 2010, 2012 in Kathmandu and World Evaluation Conclave 2015 in Kathmandu; 5th Appreciative Inquiry World Conference Johannesburg in 2015, Asian Broadcasting Union (ABU) General Assembly in Istanbul Turkey 2015, United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN-APCICT/ESCAP) Incheon, Korea in 2015 and 2016; South Asian Scholar Forum Bangladesh in 2016; Disaster Preparedness and the Power of Local Leadership, Philippines in 2017.
He has been serving as a steering committee member of Generation What Asia-Pacific Council since 2016. He has written the training manual for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in Forestry; Local Peace Committee Training Manual for Peace Ministry; Community Development Training Manual for CEAPRED; WASH Training Manual for RSN. He has been Teaching as visiting faculty member in Indira Gandhi National Open University Kathmandu Center, TU-IOF Hetuada, Pokhara and Kathmandu.
He is known as socialist development planner and recently was involved in Strategy plan development process of Vimad Municipality, Tanahun, Belaka Municipality Udayapur, Bheem Datt Municiplaity Kanchanpur, Rupa Rural Municipality Kaski, Gaurishankar Rural Municipality Dolkha, Thakur Baba Municipality Bardiya and Kathmandu Forestry College. He has designed and facilitated the workshop for prosperous Dolkha on May 2018. He has worked as core team member of vision preparation team of state no -2, under the supervision of former Prime-minister.
